Developed as part of Community Literacy of Ontario’s Reducing Risk/Protecting People project, this guide lists 42 different resources, including websites, articles, handbooks, videos, webinars, and podcasts.
This guide grew out of a project undertaken by Project READ Literacy Network Waterloo-Wellington with the goal of enhancing the existing information and referral network in that region among Employment Ontario agencies.
This guide is designed to assist regional literacy networks or other organizations interested in coordinating and implementing training for Employment Ontario (EO) agency staff in their regions. It was developed through a pilot project managed by Project READ Literacy Network Waterloo-Wellington in 2008.
Community Literacy of Ontario designed this self-study resource guide to help non-profit organizations develop and strengthen their board governance practices.
The guide includes sections on board roles and responsibilities; governance structures; the board and risk management; board development; effective board meetings; and evaluation.
This toolkit is designed for practitioners who may feel intimidated at the prospect of integrating research into a program.
The authors begin by defining “research in practice” simply as using the evidence of research and applying it in some way to one’s own experience and “research integration” as using the knowledge of the research.
This is the Final Report of a project of QUILL Network, funded by the National Literacy Secretariat in 1997. The report explains how money was spent over the course of the project, what staff spent time on, and what the public response was.
