This paper was presented at the Canadian Studies Conference on "The Canadian University in the Twenty-first Century” in 1994. The author discusses diversification among faculty, staff and student populations in universities in Canada and in other Western industrial states, as well as academic freedom, as it relates to rights of students, faculty and staff to challenge existing power relations.

Tools for Community Building - An Action Research Report (2002)

This report is the result of a nine-month action research project called 'A Participatory Framework for Enhancing Community Capacity' that was carried out between September 1999 and December 2000. It explores the potential for a collaborative, capacity-building initiative for community-based groups. This project also produced a workbook located at http://www.nwt.literacy.ca/comdevel/nln/combuild/workbook/cover.htm.
