Beginner's Guide for Program Coordinators of Literacy Organizations (2012)

This manual is designed to ease the transition process for a new program coordinator at a smaller organization within Ontario’s literacy network.

The authors note that the responsibilities of the program coordinator can vary greatly from one organization to another. This guide focuses on the aspects of the job that are common to all organizations.

It includes information on the service provider’s obligations to the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU); an explanation of the terms and acronyms used in the field; mentoring and coaching opportunities available through the regional literacy network; and an introduction to the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework (OALCF).

This document complements a succession planning toolkit developed by Literacy Link South Central (LLSC) in 2009. To see that document, please click here: http://library.copian.ca/item/8611.
