Training Activities and Program Evaluation [Video – 35:01] (2011)

This is the third webinar in a four-part series developed by the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum (CAF) as a guide for implementing Essential Skills (ES) training programs in the workplace.

The first part one of this webinar deals with building an ES training program, including choosing from among a variety of approaches; finalizing a training plan; building support; countering objections that are often raised; and implementing the plan.

The focus of the second part is the evaluation of training efforts. Specific topics include why evaluation is important; choosing appropriate evaluation tools; identifying what will be measured; and deciding how that information will be collected.

The webinar builds on information found in Human Resources and Skills Development Canada’s (HRSDC’s) "Taking Action: A Guide – Integrating Essential Skills Training into the Workplace," which can be found here: The guide presents a seven-step process for developing and integrating ES training in the workplace, along with a series of tools and tips.
