Essential Skills Workbook – Construction Supervisor, First Level (2010)

Designed to help supervisors and tradespeople who are interested in becoming supervisors to practice their Essential Skills, this tool was developed as a companion to the National Occupational Analysis (NOA) for the Construction Supervisor (First Level).

The workbook is based on actual construction supervisor materials and situations. For example, it includes tasks based on dealing with new building materials; site safety; doing framing calculations; and taking disciplinary action against a worker.

The authors note that tradespeople can use this workbook to prepare for the self-assessment also available from the CSC, or try the self-assessment, then use the workbook to practise skills.

You can purchase a hard copy of this document on the Construction Sector Council’s website at http://www.csc-ca.org.
