The authors provide a snapshot of Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) activity in the region, including a discussion of how programming might be affected by anticipated budget cuts and by the closure of several businesses in the area.

The document also includes highlights and results of the literacy service plan for the previous year; a discussion of the gaps in service delivery; and a list of priorities for LBS programs.

An appendix contains a history of adult literacy in Ontario; an explanation of literacy service planning; and an explanation of the role of regional literacy networks.
