The LVQ Pilot Project 2010-2011 – A Summary (2011)

This document is part of a project undertaken by Literacy Volunteers of Quebec (LVQ) to develop a tool for measuring non-academic progress in adult literacy learners.

The project team selected three existing tools for measuring non-academic outcomes. Each of the six pilot sites in the project was free to adapt or modify these tools to come up with something that would suit the needs of their students and tutors, with the stipulation that each site work with a minimum of three tutor-student pairs.

The authors report that all participating pilot sites felt that the experience had been positive, and had been an enriching exercise for both tutors and students.

The document also includes a chart summarizes which tools were selected and adapted at each pilot site, and the number of students/tutors involved at each site.

LVQ is a coalition of volunteer community groups that offer literacy services to Quebec's Anglophone population.
