The SCALES Accessing Essential Skills Profiles Tip Sheet (2012)

This is one of the resources developed through the SCALES (Supporting the Canadian Advancement of Literacy and Essential Skills) project, undertaken by CONNECT Strategic Alliances, representing Ontario’s 24 publicly funded colleges. The goal of the project was to develop tools and best practices to help practitioners working with unemployed and low-skilled workers to incorporate a Literacy and Essential Skills (LES) approach into their work.

In this document, the authors explain how to access, understand, and use the Essential Skills profiles available on the Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) website.

They explain various ways of searching through the profiles, including by occupation, skill level, and keyword.
