Diversity in an Environment for Accessible Learning (DEAL) (2009)

This document describes a project designed to address the diversity issues in web-based teaching and learning.

The authors note that with the increasing popularity of web-based instruction, it is important to become aware of the barriers online users face in virtual environments. Both courseware developers and educators must be made aware of solutions they can apply to make sure that diversity is a factor in the design of Learning Content Management System (LCMS), the software for delivering and tracking content.

This report includes a main document that presents an overview of the project with a simple test case implementation, along with appendices describing the system design architecture; the details on the Markup Macro Processor Language (MMP); and the profile module summary.

The preliminary findings in the current research support the use of MMP in web content development by enabling multi-versioning of web content.
