Canada Post Corporation's Learning Institute: Building Leadership Skills Throughout the Organization (1999)

Canada Post Corporation’s Learning Institute is developing the generic employability skills of all its employees and improving employees’ job performance by increasing its emphasis on education and training, and aligning the corporation’s learning programs with its business strategies and culture.

The Learning Institute, which serves all of Canada Post’s more than 50,000 employees, supports formal learning within the organization. In addition, Canada Post sponsors employee learning outside the organization for skills and career development.

The institute’s objectives include developing employees’ understanding of the link between their individual success on the job and corporate success; promoting the formation of a culture of continuous learning at the individual, team, and organizational levels; and helping the corporation achieve its goals of employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction, and revenue gain.

The institute focuses on a variety of key program areas, including business management; people management; finance for non-financial executives; project management; computer training; language training; and process management.
