Easy Stories: People (2010)

This e-book is one in a series called Best of the Reader, which consists of stories from The Westcoast Reader, a newspaper for adults trying to improve their English reading skills. It is made up of stories from the other e-books in the series.

While most of the e-books in this series offer material at three reading levels, all the stories in this book are at the lowest reading level.

Each story is accompanied by exercises to help learners improve both their reading skills and their grasp of English. The material can be used by a learner on his own or by a teacher in a classroom.

The stories focus on interesting people. Some of them are well-known figures, like singer Susan Aglukark and Olympic figure skater Joannie Rochette. Others are ordinary people doing unusual things, like an eight-year-old girl who collects pennies to help those who are homeless.

Books in the Best of the Reader series are published on Creative Commons, a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available to share legally. To learn more about Best of The Reader, please click here: http://bestofthereader.ca/.
