Soft Skills for Work – Workbook (2012)

This workbook is part of the “Career – Life – Work” series produced by the NWT Literacy Council.

When people are not able to advance in the workplace, it’s not usually a lack of technical skills that holds them back, the author says. Rather, it is the need to develop the personal qualities that are often described as “soft skills.” Generally, such skills include traits like being responsible, polite, and motivated; communication skills; the ability to function as part of a team; and problem-solving skills.

This workbook contains a variety of activities aimed at helping learners identify and develop those skills within themselves.

It can be used by learners on their own. It is also a supplement to the instructor’s manual for the section of the series that deals with communication skills.
