You Have More Skills Than You Think – Part 1 [Video – 4:22] (2013)

This is the first in a three-part series of videos designed to help people identify the skills they already have, and see how those skills can be used in the workplace.

The video begins with an explanation of the nine Essential Skills (ES), including examples of how the skills are used in everyday life.

The narrator then presents an exercise the viewer can use to determine how often he participates in various leisure activities; undertakes home and family management tasks; or uses a computer for personal tasks or entertainment. From the information gathered, he can put together an ES profile.

Other videos in the series focus on developing a skills-based, or functional, resumé, and dealing with a job interview.

The material contained in the video series is also available in a single written guide.
