Literacy and Essential Skills Guide for Service Providers Assisting Homeless or At-risk Clients – Part 3 (2012)

Literacy and Essential Skills Tools Catalogue

This catalogue includes explanations of all the Essential Skills (ES) tools currently available through Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC).

The tools are organized into three categories: tools that build understanding and awareness; tools that help assess ES requirements; and tools that support skills development. There is also information about whether a tool is intended mainly for job-seekers and workers; apprentices and tradespeople; trainers and career counsellors; or employers and human resources professionals.

The catalogue is the final portion of a three-part guide developed to help service providers learn more about ES tools available through HRSDC so they can use the tools to help clients understand the skills they need for entry into the work force.
