Cook – Job Profile (2013)

This job profile is part of an easy-to-read career planning resource. The authors use the example of a cook working in a hospital kitchen to explain the nature of the job; workplace conditions; necessary skills and traits; potential wages; and possible training required.

They also discuss the variety of places where a cook might work, including restaurants, hotels and schools, and point out other related jobs, like baker, caterer or meat cutter.
