How To Kit - Environmental Print Games (2003)

Environmental print is the print found in everyday life, like labels on food, traffic signs or the logo of a restaurant chain. It is usually the first print children recognize and plays a role in helping them learn that letters and symbols have meaning.

This kit includes instructions and templates for a variety of games, including a word scavenger hunt and signs and symbols bingo. The authors note that the games can be played in any language, including the Aboriginal languages of the communities in the Northwest Territories.

The authors have also included suggestions for organizing an environmental print games night for the community.
