A National Employment Equity Network (1989)

Women's Education des femmes, Sept. 1989 - Vol. 7, No. 3

The publication of the employers' reports under the Employment Equity Act in 1988 stimulated new interest in efforts to improve federal employment equity. Many groups felt that the reports illustrated the weakness of the Act. To develop a coordinated federal response, organizations representing all four target groups (women, aboriginal people, the disabled, and visible minorities) met in Ottawa in February of 1989 and decided to form a national employment equity network, which is the topic of this article.
