Proposal Writing (2003)

This document is part of the Community Capacity Building Toolkit developed by the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick.

All literacy programs need to raise funds in order to survive. Writing proposals is one way to bring in extra funds. This document outlines the basic information required before writing any proposal, discusses how to fashion each proposal to match the specific funding interests of each corporation, business or foundation, and provides tips for writing proposals. Also supplied is a list of foundations that will fund literacy and education in New Brunswick, a sample cover letter for a foundation proposal, and on-line resources that offer information and tutorials on grant proposal writing.
