Practitioner Development Strategy (2000)

Phase One

This document reports on a project designed to answer the following questions:
-What are the core skills needed by a practitioner in the Native literacy field?
-How are these skills acquired by individuals seeking to work in the Native literacy field?
-How is the acquisition of these skills recognized by the Native literacy field?
-What are the Administrative Core Skills needed by a practitioner in the Native Literacy Field?

The strategy focused on the persons delivering literacy instructions to the learners in a literacy program. The report talks about core skills of Native groups and how they are acquired and presents the results of a survey on core skills.
