Living and Learning for a Viable Future - The Power of Adult Learning (2009)

Submissions to Adult Learners' Week Contest, March 2-9, 2009

In 2009, the theme for International Adult Learners' Week (IALW) was “Living and Learning for a Viable Future – The Power of Adult Learning.” Literacy Nova Scotia celebrated IALW with a contest and an event.

The contest was a culmination of six writing workshops conducted for Literacy Nova Scotia by Jenni Blackmore. A total of 83 learners participated in the workshops, held in Truro, Liverpool, Middleton, Port Hawkesbury, Eskasoni and Middle Musquodoboit.

The workshop participants as well as learners from other adult learning and English as a Second Language (ESL), seniors, and workplace programs were invited to enter the contest. All of the submissions received for the contest are published here.
