Lesson Plan 1

This lesson plan, part of the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Essential Skills series, focuses on the skills employees need to clearly and efficiently explain that a problem is preventing them from doing their work. The lesson plan is at CLB Level 1-2 and focuses on the essential skills of speaking and listening.

The lesson, which is estimated to require 1.5 hours, discusses ways to politely ask for help and introduces words related to common problems at work.

The lesson plan includes a list of materials and equipment needed, including an overhead projector and transparencies. Audio dialogue for the lesson is available in mp3 files embedded in the document. There are also suggestions for additional learning activities and evaluation.
