Lesson Plan 11

This lesson plan, part of the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Essential Skills series, is aimed at learners who don’t feel confident giving directions and instructions. Its objectives are to help the learner be able to give directions; distinguish between polite instructions and a command; and give instructions.

The lesson includes several audio dialogues, available in mp3 files embedded in the document, to illustrate the points being taught.

The lesson plan is rated at CLB level 4 and requires an estimated 2.5 hours of instruction time. It focuses on the essential skills of reading text, document use and oral communication.
