Through The Lens (2008)

Helping Newcomers Speak about Racism and Discrimination in Canada

The aim of this resource is to make learners more aware of racism and discrimination in Canada and, therefore, better able to deal with racist incidents if they occur.

The author has included notes to the instructor; a glossary of terms often used when talking about racism and discrimination; a sample lesson plan; and a set of scenarios that act as starting points for discussions about past incidents and for improving conversational skills

This resource is for learners whose language skills have been assessed at Canadian Language Benchmark 4 and above.
