Stained Glass and Essential Skills - Facilitator's Guide (2010)

The Literacy and Essential Skills in Industrial Arts (LESIA) project saw the creation of five industrial arts-based courses that also address workplace Essential Skills instruction and literacy issues. The goal was to make the courses low-pressure and enjoyable while at the same time making them relevant to low-skilled employees or adults wanting to enter the workforce.

This facilitator’s guide for the stained glass art course offers an introduction to essential skills; an explanation of the course structure; and notes for the host organization, the stained glass instructor and the essential skills facilitator.

Other courses developed through the LESIA project deal with blacksmithing, jewellery making, welding art and mosaics.
