Welding and Essential Skills - Facilitator's Guide (2010)

The Literacy and Essential Skills in Industrial Arts (LESIA) project, developed by Literacy Ontario Central South, is a set of five industrial arts-based courses that also include workplace essential skills and literacy instruction. The courses are designed to be low-pressure and enjoyable but, at the same time, helpful to low-skilled employees or adults wanting to enter the workforce.

The facilitator’s guide for the welding course includes an introduction to essential skills; an explanation of the course structure; and notes for the host organization, the welding instructor and the essential skills facilitator.

Other courses developed through the LESIA project deal with blacksmithing, stained glass art, jewellery making and mosaics.
