Getting Your Taxes Filed Up to Date (2009)

This fact sheet is one of a series prepared by Money Mentors, a non-profit credit counselling and money management organization based in Alberta.

The authors explain how to get forms from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and discuss the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, an initiative started by the CRA to train volunteers to help individuals fill out basic income tax returns.

The authors also include information about applying for the GST/HST credit and the Canada Child Tax Credit; carrying forward tax credits; and determining eligibility for a number of benefits and subsidies.
