2003 International Adult Literacy and Skills Survey

This document is based on a presentation on the International Adult Literacy and Skills Survey (IALSS) given in Toronto in 2006. The authors have included the IALSS findings for Ontario along with a comparison of the Ontario results with those from other provinces and territories.

The document includes sections on the IALSS levels; lifelong learning and education; the labour market; the economy and society; adult literacy demographics; and literacy and the quality of life.

The document also contains a guide for holding a study circle to discuss adult literacy challenges in Ontario. The authors have included sections for both facilitators and participants in study circles.
