Story Time Adventures (2010)

Story Time Adventures is a program that can be offered to preschool children through a child development centre or early intervention program, in morning or afternoon sessions.

The authors provide a list of picture books, each accompanied by craft ideas, suggested rhymes, and a variety of activities inspired by the book. They encourage leaders to incorporate circle time, free play and outdoor time into each Story Time Adventure and note that activities can be spread out over several sessions.

Some of the books selected for this program relate specifically to Aboriginal lore and life in the North, including “Kumak’s House,” by Michael Bania, and “Turnagain Ptarmigan! Where Did You Go?” by James Guenther. The authors have also included Dr. Seuss’s classic, “Green Eggs and Ham.”
