Essential Skills and Ontario Northland (2009)

This case study focuses on Ontario Northland, a provincial Crown corporation established more than a hundred years ago to support the development of the North through rail service. In particular, the authors look at how the company used the Test of Workplace Essential Skills (TOWES) to ensure that new employees with no railway background had skills that could be transferred to Ontario Northland’s environment.

This is one in a series of case studies examining Essential Skills development in the workplace.
