Literacy Now Communities Program Stage Three: Implementation 2008-2009 (2009)

This document provides a progress report on the South Okanagan Similkameen community literacy plan, which grew out of a task force set up in 2006 to develop a strategy for increasing literacy levels in that region of British Columbia.

The authors note the changes that have taken place in the community with regard to employment opportunities, educational resources, and community services. They list the objectives from the literacy plan that have been implemented during the year and describe the impact those actions have had.

They also note how the plan has been modified and provide details about many literacy events held during the year.
