A passion for financial literacy [Video - 2:39] (2008)

This video, about two and a half minutes long, features a youth counsellor explaining how financial literacy can help young people improve their chances of finding work and achieving their dreams.

The counsellor works at a centre in Montreal where young people, many of them new Canadians or members of visible minorities, go for career counselling. With support from a national organization called Social and Enterprise Development Innovations (SEDI), counsellors at the centre receive training that enables them to advise the young people about managing their finances wisely.

SEDI works with community groups to help low-income people become self-sufficient through financial literacy; savings and asset building; and entrepreneurship.
