Professional Skills Record: Machinist (2010)

NOC 7231

This handbook is designed to help skilled trades journeypersons manage the learning of their apprentices who are using a professional skills record (PSR). The PSR is used to provide a fair and objective assessment tool to record the apprentice’s skills and learning.

In addition to instructions on how to maintain a PSR, this document also includes a glossary of relevant terms used in the National Occupational Analysis; an explanation of the essential skills tasks required for trades; and a list of tips for being a good mentor.
