Project Management Toolkit: A Guide for Regional Literacy Networks in Ontario (2009)

The authors of this document have taken the theory of project management and broken it down into a step-by-step guide to delivering a literacy project in Ontario.

The authors have divided the toolkit into sections that explain how to describe a project; project governance; the lifecycle of a project; managing a project; and how to ensure that the project meets its goals. They have included charts and checklists to illustrate the points made.

The authors note that the toolkit focuses more on the steps that must be taken rather than on how those steps should be taken, and encourage users to take a basic course in project management to enhance their skills.

While the authors are writing specifically for Ontario’s literacy networks, the information contained in the toolkit can be applied in many settings.
