Personal Wellness

This document is part of a curriculum developed through the New Brunswick Aboriginal Workplace Essential Skills (NBAWES) project, designed to help Aboriginal adults improve their literacy skills and their employability.

The focus of this unit is personal wellness, which the authors describe as the result of conscious effort, good choices, and positive behaviours. Course participants explore personal wellness by examining mental, physical, emotional, spiritual and other forms of wellness.

Lesson plans deal with a variety of topics, including time management; budgeting; problem solving; positive thinking; and cardiac health. As well, the authors have included several articles dealing with medicine and the environment.
