Financial Literacy Resources in Manitoba (2010)

Understanding What is Available

This presentation offers both an introduction to basic money issues and links to a variety of online resources that offer further information.

For instance, the authors begin by explaining that a budget is simply a plan for managing money in order to pay expenses and achieve financial goals. Then they provide links to online resource guides and interactive tools that people can use to set personal budgets.

Other topics covered include credit; saving and investing; and the Canada Learning Bond program, which provides grants to families with modest incomes to help them start saving early for their children’s education.

While some of the resources mentioned in the presentation are available only in Manitoba, many can be used by people in any part of Canada.
