Learning Changes Lives [Video - 0:45] (2011)

Prepared by ABC Life Literacy Canada, this brief video promotes the idea that it is never too late to learn.

It includes short interviews with several older adults, who describe how improving their literacy skills changed their lives. One man says that he has learned more in the nine months since he walked through the doors of a literacy centre than he had in all his life prior to that point.

The video ends with a message from literacy ambassador Lesra Martin, who overcame early troubles to become a prominent lawyer known for his part in securing the release of former boxer Rubin “Hurricane” Carter from prison after he had been wrongfully convicted of murder.
