Travel Plans (2012)

An information brochure for adults with low English literacy

This booklet is one of a series developed for people with low English literacy skills.

The authors go through the steps of planning a trip, from making a budget to deciding on a mode of transportation and booking accommodation. They also list other factors the traveller should consider, like health concerns; discussing the trip with a guardian, if that is relevant; and whether a passport will be required.

The authors use plain language; break compound words down into smaller parts; provide definitions for unfamiliar words; and offer pronunciation tips for difficult terms.

The booklet was prepared by Vecova Centre for Disability Services and Research (Vecova), formerly known as the Vocational and Rehabilitation Research Institute (VRRI). For more information, please click here: http://vecova.ca/.
