Rally for Literacy (2012)

In 2011, Lachlan MacLean of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories approached the NWT Literacy Council with a proposal for a fundraising project: a car rally that would take him around one-third of the world, from England to Mongolia. This how-to kit uses the Rally for Literacy as the basis for activities designed to strengthen Literacy and Essential Skills.

Sing for Literacy Toolkit (2009)

Sing for Literacy is the theme of the 2010 Family Literacy Day in Canada. This toolkit provides information on how to host a sing-a-long in your community to raise money and awareness for literacy. It offers a checklist on how to register and organize an event, provides links to internet sites, as well as sample letters to the media and supporters. Spread the Word: How to Implement a Community Literacy Festival (1999)

In the spring of 1998, Georgian Literacy held its first Spread the Word Literacy Festival in Collingwood, Ontario. The free, accessible day-long celebration featured readings by numerous well-known Canadian authors and many local writers. Visitors enjoyed story-telling, children's activities, entertainment, a celebrity book auction, an international food fair, a variety of exhibits, and much more.
