The Five E's for Health: Understanding eLiteracies for eLearning in Electronic Educational Environments (2008)

This report describes the evaluation of the impact of two established virtual classroom environments, one on tobacco control and one on HIV/AIDS, on student learning and engagement and on teacher collaboration.

The impact of the two programs was evaluated by 233 youth participants and five teachers, using surveys and interviews, with the goal of developing recommendations for health and education programming and policy.

Let's Talk Science: Making Science Education Exciting, Relevant and Rewarding (2001)

Let’s Talk Science (LTS) is a national charitable organization that works to improve scientific literacy through innovative educational programs, research, and advocacy.

LTS began in 1991as an outreach project that paired 10 graduate students from the University of Western Ontario with teachers in local schools to raise awareness of science. Now, it reaches more 100,000 youth and educators every year.

Refining the Learning Process in Newfoundland: E-Learning Innovation at North Atlantic (2001)

E-learning is helping the North Atlantic oil refinery on Newfoundland’s Avalon Peninsula keep up with rapidly changing technology and regulations.

The refinery processes 105,000 barrels of oil a day and is closer than any other refinery in North America to international sources of crude oil in the North Sea, West Africa, and the Arabian Gulf.
