Northern Light Legends [Video – 3:26] (2011)

This short video documents the northern lights, or aurora borealis, and the legends surrounding them.

The film crew travelled to Kugluktuk, the westernmost community in Nunavut, almost on the border with the Northwest Territories. From there, they travelled south to spend 10 days camping on the tundra, capturing the northern lights via time-lapse photography.

The Drum [Video – 16:27] (2010)

This video focuses on a drum-making workshop held at the Ekati Diamond mine in the Northwest Territories. The workshop was part of a series organized by BHP Billiton Canada, which developed the mine, to introduce its multinational employees to local Aboriginal culture.

The workshop is led by two Tlicho elders. The Tlicho, also known as Dogrib, are part of the broader designation of Dene Aboriginal people.
