This research agenda for the adult ESL field is designed to assist researchers in their effort to formulate research designs for specific projects, and provide potential funders of research with priorities and program needs.
This report is a listing of the federal and provincial literacy projects in Newfoundland and Labrador from 1994 to the end of January 1997. These projects have been sponsored by volunteer organizations, colleges, school boards, unions, community centres and others dedicated to promoting literacy and making services more accessible. A report from1995 describes projects carried out from 1988 to early 1994.
Prince Edward Learning Centre in Picton, Ontario, has produced a new learning tool to help learners with their job search. The manual uses plain language and takes the learner through the job hunting process. There are many exercises throughout the book and they have been articulated to Recognition of Adult Learning Strategy (RALS).
In October, 1997, eighteen people from across Canada gathered at the Learning Centre, an adult literacy program in Edmonton. The seminar centered on research practices and perspectives on adult literacy practice in Canada. This document is a record of the seminar's proceedings.
