This directory lists programs and initiatives that provide family literacy education and support in
New Brunswick. It is divided into two sections, with the first section listing province-wide initiatives that offer programs or services in many communities around New Brunswick. The second section lists local programs and initiatives by county.
We are an Island is a collection of 41 lessons on Cape Breton Island social studies topics, including geography, history, civics and current events. Each lesson is accompanied by vocabulary exercises and comprehension questions. These activities are designed to meet outcomes specified by the Nova Scotia Adult Learning Program Levels 1 and 2.

Environmental print is the print found in everyday life, like labels on food, traffic signs or the logo of a restaurant chain. It is usually the first print children recognize and plays a role in helping them learn that letters and symbols have meaning.
Reading and picture bingos are a great way to engage children and families in learning. Included here are several bingos that can be used with children of different ages. Word Bingo can be used with children in grades 2-8. Picture Bingo can be used with young children and the Alphabet Bingo can be used with pre-school and kindergarten children.

Specifically, it examined three systems currently being used in the province, namely TRO's PLATO, the Columbia Computer Corporation package, and the Pathfinder computer managed instruction system.
