When the Centre for Literacy and Blue Metropolis (a local literary festival in Montreal) teamed up in 1999, 'Grassroots: Writing in the Community' was born. The stories and poems read that day are shared in these pages, along with background on the groups.
The stories and pictures for this storybook were created and compiled by the Basic Education Literacy Class of SIAST Kelsey Campus in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
This book was created in the spirit of fun and in support of Family Literacy.
Writings by Adult Learners from Upgrading Programs - 1998-99
This work is a collection of stories and poems written by adult learners. It was produced in memory of a fellow adult learner, Roderick Heffernan, who was part of the Antigonish Adult Upgrading program. The works contained in the collection describe the experiences, trials and triumphs of adult learners in Antigonish and are written in easy to read language that is engaging and motivational.
Calvin Coish's Career Planning Guide for Adult Learners includes stories, questions, sample resume, cover letter and much more. Written for adult learners this publication explores the world of work, occupations and career fields. Interspersed among the practical chapters that provide information about these topics are the personal stories of five adults who talk about their school and work experiences.
The adventure begins in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Fifteen year old Jason, and his younger brother, Justin make a strange find in Beacon Hill Park, which leads the two boys to a meeting with Lady Kitty O'Donnell. She invites the boys to spend summer vacation at her castle in Ireland.
