Community Literacy of Ontario designed this self-study resource guide to help non-profit organizations develop and strengthen their board governance practices.

The guide includes sections on board roles and responsibilities; governance structures; the board and risk management; board development; effective board meetings; and evaluation.

This booklet was designed for adult immigrants who are learning English as a Second Language (ESL) and includes ideas for learners to work on their English at home and in the community. It also includes lists of websites and other resources; information about tests of ESL skills and ESL programs in Nova Scotia; and an explanation of the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).

This workbook is an introduction to Microsoft Word 2003 and was developed for English as a Second Language learners for use either in a classroom setting with an instructor or as a self-teaching guide. It is one in a series of computer skills workbooks designed for ESL learners.

A Language So Dear... by Jeanette Winsor is a story in the book Wayfering Journeys in Language, Learning and Culture, it is a collection of writings by ABE instructors and students in Newfoundland brought together for a "language awareness project", designed to explore attitudes, beliefs, and knowledge about language and the teaching of language.

This workbook offers an introduction to the Internet and can be used by ESL students both in a classroom setting with an instructor and as a self-teaching guide.
