The author notes that First Nations, Métis and Inuit people in all colonized territories share common experiences that are often very different from other student populations struggling in educational systems. Understanding the legacy of the Aboriginal experience is critical in developing education systems that respond to Aboriginal needs.

Nourishing the Learning Spirit: Dialogue on Learning through Spirit (2009)

In this report, prepared for the Aboriginal Learning Knowledge Centre (AbLKC), the author describes a three-day forum on engaging the spirit in learning, held at Wanuskewin Heritage Park in Saskatchewan in May 2008.

The forum was part of a research study intended to prompt discussion about how teachers might understand and engage with spiritual knowing within a variety of contexts.
