Literacy Impacts: Families - Outreach (2010)

This fact sheet provides the highlights of an evaluation of the Good Book Bins project, in which bins filled with gently used children’s books are placed in locations where parents and children spend time waiting together.

The evaluation showed that the bins were popular with families. At locations where the bins were available, many families also accessed other literacy information, like program brochures and library schedules.

Literacy Impacts: Families - Training (2010)

This fact sheet summarizes the short and midterm outcomes of READ Saskatoon’s “Introduction to Family Literacy Training” program.

Immediately after completing their training, participants showed increased confidence and knowledge about facilitating a family literacy program. Surveyed by phone two years after completing their training, most participants were still committed to promoting family literacy.
